Reflections on chaos

The cycle consists of four paintings, made in the oil on canvas technique, as well as in the author’s technique, the size of the paintings: 170 x 190 cm.

The series of paintings entitled “Reflections on Chaos” is a practical answer to the questions about the possibilities of dealing with today’s excess of information, events, situations, and choices. Questions about the vortex of the world, peace, sense of internal harmony, about the possibility of stopping.

This series is a dialogue between the author and the image, a cooperation. It is an attempt to stop and become aware of time. The artist calls her paintings a meditative abstraction. The artist’s actions aim to achieve internal calm and a sense of order through trying to record a moment in time.

The artist borrows some visual elements from Eastern tradition and culture, where the void does not necessarily have to be filled with something, and the lack is a condition, not a space to fill. The color scheme refers to landscapes on the White Sea. The artist invites the viewer to start an internal dialogue with images and hopes that her work will contribute to one more view of the viewer inside herself.

The cycle can also be called “interior mirrors”.
